The Trichomonas vaginalis Genome Sequencing Project
TIGR has generated the complete genome sequence of Trichomonas vaginalis, the causative agent of human trichomoniasis, with funding from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). A whole genome shotgun strategy was employed, and the paper describing the genome has been accepted with a publication date expected in January 2007.
The T. vaginalis genome sequence data has been released on this website at regular intervals. However, all sequence data and the final annotation have now been submitted to GenBank and are being processed ready for imminent release. Please remember to acknowledge the source of the genome data (TIGR) and the source of funding for the project (NIAID).
