The Trypanosoma cruzi Genome Project

Listed below is a collection of information on the activities of the Trypanosoma cruzi genome project. This project is been carried out by the TIGR-Seattle Biomedical Research Institute-Karolisnka Institute Trypanosoma cruzi Sequencing Consortium (TSK-TSC). The sequence data available has been generated by the three contributing centres. Please follow the links to get more detailed information for each project.

Funding for this project is being provided by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID)
  • Introduction and Sequencing Methodology
A brief summary of the Trypanosoma cruzi genome project and a detailed description of our sequencing strategy.

  • Whole Genome Shotgun Effort
A database of end sequences generated at TIGR, Karolinska Institute (KI) and the Seattle Biomedical Research Institute (SBRI) from the T. cruzi CL Brener libraries.

  • Data Release Policy
Warning on the use of preliminary data.

  • Trypanosoma cruzi Genome Annotation Database
This database under development will eventually contain every sequence derived from the TIGR sequencing project. Annotated sequences will be displayed based on their map position and will be searchable by BAC clone name as well as by gene name.

  • Trypanosoma cruzi Gene Index (TcGI)
All publicly available T. cruzi ESTs as well as transcripts from Genbank have been assembled into contigs and built into the Trypanosoma cruzi Gene Index (TcGI).

  • A FAQ for this site
Will contain information on obtaining BAC clones and filters.

  • Trypanosoma cruzi links
Links to information on Trypanosoma cruzi Genome and tools available from other sites.
