What's New - The TIGR Cryptococcus neoformans Genome Project
April 29st 2003
Fasta files of the latest assembly of Cryptococcus neoformans strain JEC21 genome assembly now available for search and download (JEC21_4_28_2003.fa). The fourteen fasta files represent scaffolded assemblies which comprise the vast majority of the JEC21 genome sequence. The files contain 77 gaps and the dataset contains three fully completed chromosomes temporarily designated CH2, CH7 and CH9. Automated annotations are now available for the completed chromosomes based on gene models prepared using a combination of computational genefinding methods (PHAT/GlimmerC and TWINSCAN) and database similarity searching. As chromosomes are completed these will be automatically annotated and the results placed on the web for display.
April 21st 2003
Fasta files of the latest assembly of Cryptococcus neoformans strain JEC21 genome assembly now available for search and download. The fourteen fasta files represent scaffolded assemblies which comprise the vast majority of the JEC21 genome sequence. The files contain 88 gaps and the dataset contains three fully completed chromosomes temporarily designated CH2, CH7 and CH9.
February 25th 2003
Fasta files of the latest assembly of Cryptococcus neoformans strain JEC21 approximately 10.5 X assembly now available for search and download. The fourteen fasta files represent scaffolded assemblies which comprise the vast majority of the JEC21 genome sequence. The files contain 156 gaps of average size approximately 2Kb. Many of the 14 fasta files represent individual chromosomes, however the final number of chromosomes is expected to be 12 or 13.
February 10th 2003
Fasta files of gene predictions from three different genefinders (Twinscan/Glimmer/Phat) for the latest Cryptococcus neoformans strain JEC21 approximately 9.7X assembly now available for search and download. The predictions contain two fasta format files for each genefinder containing the predicted coding DNA and peptide sequences termed genefinder.cds.fa and genefinder.pep.fa respectively.
January 23th 2003
A Cryptococcus neoformans strain JEC21 approximately 9.7X assembly including closure reads is now available for search and download at the sequence search page. Names (while keeping the same data) for the other data files for searching and download have been updated.
January 24th 2002
Cryptococcus neoformans strain B3501 7X contigs and strain JEC21 3X contigs are now searchable at the sequence search page.
January 17th 2002
Release of new Cryptococcus neoformans assemblies of sequences generated at TIGR and Stanford, representing a nominal 10 fold sequence coverage of the Cryptococcus neoformans genome. The assemblies are searchable and are now available for download from the ftp site. Information on the Mapping of TIGR Scaffolds to Stanford Contigs can be found here. Assembly details can be found here.
October 17th 2001
Release of new Cryptococcus neoformans assemblies of sequences generated at TIGR
and representing a nominal 6 fold sequence coverage of
the Cryptococcus neoformans genome. The assemblies are searchable and are now
available for download from the ftp site.
July 26 2001
Download individual assemblies now available.
July 25 2001
Release of new Cryptococcus neoformans assemblies of sequences generated at
TIGR and representing a nominal 3.5 fold sequence coverage of the Cryptococcus
neoformans genome. The assemblies are searchable and are now available for
download from the ftp site.
June 27, 2001
Release of new Cryptococcus neoformans sequence search that provides searching of nucleotide or peptide sequences against preliminary contigs. Sequencing data is now available for download from the ftp site.
May 15, 2001
Release of new Cryptococcus neoformans database and web displays.
