There is a separate FAQ
page for all TIGR Gene Indices.
Can I order an EST clone from you?
TIGR does not own the EST clones, we simply obtained the sequence
from the public domain to build the gene index (AtGI).
If you get the EST information by searching our site, you can order
the clone from the stock center by following the link in the EST report
returned. If a clone is available for an EST, the link will be provided
for you in the EST report.
Sequence started with a name ET| is the transcript sequence for a characterized
gene in GenBank (not an EST). The clones for those sequences are not all
available from the stock center. You may want to follow the links to GenBank
and contact the original authors about clone availability.
Can I order a BAC/YAC/clone from you?
The easiest place to obtain a clone would be from the Arabidopsis Biological Resource Center. You can order individual clones online from them
by using clone name as catalog number.
Please contact the ABRC regarding DNA clones, library storage and distribution, and data for all stocks and other information.
Where Can I find information on the exact base pair location of my BLASTX hit in Arabidopsis chromosomes using the ORF information?
Currently, the BAC-based coordinates are displayed. By searching the gene sequence against the chromsome sequence via our sequence search facility, you can obtain the chromosome-based coordinates. Eventually, we will include this information in the gene report page.
I downloaded a sequence and it showed up on my desktop with the ending .seq. How do I open this file?
You should be able to open it using any text editor.
