TIGR is part of the Arabidopsis Genome Initiative (AGI) to produce genomic sequence from Arabidopsis. We were initially assigned chromosome II in a collaboration with Howard Goodman's group at MGH in Boston. We have now completed the entire sequence of chromosome II and have begun to sequence parts of chromosome III and chromosome I as assigned by the AGI. On chromosome III, we are sequencing the top 4 Mb and a region just north of the centromere. On chromosome I, we have begun to sequence south of marker mi 353 in collaboration the SPP consortium.

Data Release

Sequence data for unfinished BAC clones are available through the HTGS division of GenBank. Submissions to HTGS are made once the clone has completed the shotgun phase of sequencing, and has been assembled. As gaps are closed the accession is updated. Click on the accession number for a BAC clone of interest found in the In progress section of the Status Tables.

All completed sequence are submitted to the PLN division of GenBank, and included in the Arabidopsis Genome Annotation Database. Invidual sequence can be also be downloaded from the TIGR ftp site

BAC end sequences have been moved to this page.
